The example uses SP #2. Pg 38 table is for 2" - 4" thick, for 10" inch wide (example says 2x10) Fb = 1050psi.
For #3, 2" - 4 thick, 10" wide Fb=600psi.
The whole table 4B is for 2-4" thick, but because it's a 2x10 you need to look at the 10" wide line.
