RE: Ventilate stud spaces in earthquake retrofits

Look at ASHRAE fundamentals Chapter 23, it explains the physics behind
moisture formation in building cavities and provides methods for
designing/analyzing vapor barriers. What is in ASHRAE makes much more
sense than the code methods of ventilating or placing a vapor barrier on
the 'warm-in winter side' of the wall.
