Re: Placing concrete walls on footings before 7 days

Will,

There is no such reference or wording on the drawings.  There are no specs other than notes on the drawings.  This isn't even my project, but it was designed by an architect who has asked me what I know about these required wait times.

This is just a simple single story premanufactured building on a concrete spread foundation.  The inspector says he is referencing ACI 318, but he won't say where the reference actually is.  I called the inspector who said he would have to call me back.  But didn't.

Did you have 7 days listed in your concrete specifications? Or just a reference to ACI 301, etc.?

I have been asked about the need to wait 7 days before placing a concrete wall on a new footing.  Is this an enforcable requirement referenced by the code?  Or this only a guide and a "proceed at your own risk" situation if placing the wall before receiving 7-day breaks on the footing?
And is there a similar requirement that forms cannot be erected on a footing until 3 days after footing placement?
