RE: ASCE 7-05 Errors

How is it that "errata are automatically adopted
through local adoption process"?

A secondary group, publishing errata, can undermine
the authority of a single source.

Most errata are acceptable by having corrected a direct
contradiction of code, physics or intent of performance.

The errata that are not so transparent include
tabulated material values, or issues that will change
the economic competitiveness of a system but not
contradict the code, physics or intent of performance.
