        I would expect that your codes have a requirement for maximum slope for wheel chair access ramps.  That might be a prudent place to start.

Hi, folks.

I've got an exterior service elevator that requires a ramp of some kind for access. The elevator comes down just to grade (no pit) and the elevator floor is thus four feet above grade when the elevator is on the "ground floor".

Is anyone aware of any Building Code or OSHA requirements for such a ramp (e.g. max. slope, etc.)? This is a contruction-type elevator of the kind you see for temporary service for a building under construction, although it will be used in permanent service.

Any pointers would be most welcome.
