RE: Spacing for 36" dia. hollow steel pile

Unfortunately, this is an expansion project that Geo-tech report on file does not have that kind of info. Currently, we have a geo-tech guy checking the capacity for both vertical and lateral forces.

Julius,

For an offshore application you probably should being using the recommendations from a properly written site specific geotechnical reports which should provide you with all the parameters for your pile design including vertical/horizontal capacities, minimum spacing, moment vs shear diagrams, group effects for downdrag, etc.

Spacing for 36" dia. hollow steel pile

Gents:

I am using 36” diameter hollow steel piles for my off-shore application; my pile cap requires
A total of 18 piles (i.e. 6 each row) going with the rule of thumb 3 x pile diameter, I ended up 9’ center
which will give me  a wider width.

Is there a code that specifies the min. spacing of piles?

Thanks,
