I can’t argue the ethanol point at all. I worked with a group (all engineers) that was looking at building an ethanol plant 4-5 years ago. We ran the numbers, looked at each other, and decided in good conscience we couldn’t go through with it. I didn’t pencil out on any level except gov’t subsidy, and that’s not what we were there for. Ethanol is a big agribusiness money grab. The only bright spot in the picture is that it has helped focus people on the fact that we need some kind of alternate in the wings because the fossil fuels will run out eventually as an economical alte, whether it’s in 50 years or 500 years.

Yeah, it was. Had a bad day.
But personal "cheap shots" aside, taking food and turning it into fuel for political expediency IS pretty annoying.
