I used to work for Wallace Engineering in Tulsa, who did this engineering. It's been a long time, and I didn't work in the "California group," but I can tell you that they used a "C-shaped" analysis where the "box" is open on one end so that you distribute the forces in a two-dimensional fashion.I do not have any drawings for the building. I’m hoping there may be someone on the list who has designed Walmarts back in this older style of building, or other box retailers, who can give me some insight on the lateral stability of the building.
