You are correct that ASCE 7 will next be out in 2010, but I believe they are going to a 6 year cycle.  They are doing a 5 year cycle this time to get it on the right timing.  The intent is to have ASCE 7 be one year ahead of the material standards and two years ahead of the IBC cycle.
