Re: Nonlinear Pushover Analysis

David,

Please follow the link below for the download of the watch and learn by CSI-Berkeley (maker of SAP and Etabs) regarding push over analysis. As an additional information, SAP 2000 V 11 is more comprehensive when it comes to Pushover analysis since they already incorporated the ATC 40 and FEMA 273 provisions. StaadPro 2006 has Push Over analysis  but only limited to Steel  Structures not on Concrete. (Hope they are now undergoing inclusion for concrete application).  BTW, are you also using  Non Linear Time History Analysis? if you have data on the time history of previous strong earthquake in the Phils. (  i.e. 1992 Luzon earthquake), please could you provide me a copy?  We can  perform  Non Linear time history analysis but  we are  going to use foreign data (El centro,  Northridge...)

Maybe Dr. Pacheco and his team (Vibrametrics, Phils)  is already doing this.

Does anyone have complete procedure and example of nonlinear static procedure(pushover analysis)? Either using etabs or other way. Please send me a copy of it so i have guide in leaning it thanks.

Harold.

Thanks, you have educated me this time and in the past. I thought these articles describe only the design and loadings and not the analysis method.
Have a nice day.

It is a reliable procedure if used within its limitations.  This was also known as the "nonlinear static procedure".  A good place to start is the old TI 809-04 aka UFC 3-310.03a available at:

Is it reliable to use nonlinear pushover analysis? Does it have articles or codes to use as parameters?
