Re: Obama-Care: This Is What It Will Be Like

Actually the federal tax includes the provincial taxes(except Quebec),
which are turned over to the provinces. The federal gov't only acts as
collector. Quebec chooses to collect its own prov tax-vive la
difference. A few years ago there was a comparison of total taxes
between NY and Ontario by a national magazine. It showed that the
Ontario taxes were lower. Studies have shown when total taxes are
compared there was only about 10% difference between the two countries.
For example, higher federal taxes but considerably lower school taxes.
Just to be kind to you, the survey showed that Texas had lower overall
taxes than Canada and NY state.
