Subject: Re Metal Building Manufacturer Accreditation/Certification
Gary,
IAS accredits certification agencies. They wrote (as requested by MBMA) the
certification "standard" AC472 that replaces the AISC-MB manufacturer
quality certification for Metal Building manufacturers for US projects. It
explicitly includes aspects that are required in the IBC.
I'm waiting for the day when the same certification, with appropriate
options, is applied to conventional structural and metal building
manufacturers. Many of them, on both sides, are doing the same thing.
