| Alexander, I think you should inform the company about your new salary requirements before you go for the interview. If they liked you enough to pay your way for an interview they will probably agree to your new salary. The likelhood of getting an salary increase after the interview is next to zero. I don't think you need to explain, except perhaps that you require more $. I would not discuss leaving the project before your interview. But, if you do leave the project wihout a good reason (sickness, family issues..) it will be bad mark on your reputation, and harder to get another job.
