Re: SDS Value

I have read before that you should use the centroid, which is what I use. I will see if I can find out where I found that direction.

I am doing a seismic retrofit on a CMU building in Los Angeles. The owner is

used centroid value for the SDS (Not the Maximum or minimum). Does anyone
know anywhere in the 2011 LABC or 2010 CBC or ASCE code where it states if
you are required to use the centroid value, the maximum value or the minimum
value.
