Back in the 83-87's I worked in Saudi Arabia. We do not design
structures for seismic. KSA, Qatar, UAE, Kuwait, Dubai... are non
seismic zone. What changes now?

Sorry, my bad. I remember taking a SEAOI course on the new NEHRP
provisions right around 1997, and I thought I remembered those had been
incorporated in the '97 UBC.
