Re: Threaded anchor rod

It is always so. Ask any designer, they always calculate the strength of
the bolt in its core diameter, and not the shank or nominal diameter.
Normally, .8( 8 / 10 ) times the nominal cross-sectional area of the
bolt is assumed as the effective area(core area/ threaded area).
